Using the wrong harness or improper installation between the ECM and the Geotab device can lead to various problems such as
Loss of GPS signal
Loss of connection between the vehicle and the device
No or lost odometer reading
No reading of the engine measurements
No reading of engine faults
No creation of automatic statuses (Geotab Drive) as required in the DCE/ELD mandate.
No or loss of ignition reading
Etc.

Use Geotab telematic devices only with Geotab-approved harnesses purchased from Geotab authorized dealers. The use of non-Geotab harnesses from unauthorized harnesses may result in serious safety hazards, including fire, and may result in serious injury and/or damage to the vehicle. Volvo and Mack: 2021 and beyond
According to Geotab's Harness Type Determination Checklist, 2021+ vehicles equipped with an RP1226 port must use the HRN-CS14S21 harness to install the Geotab modem.

According to Geotab's Harness Type Determination Checklist, 2019 and 2020 vehicles must use HRN-CE10K2 and HRN-CM24Y1 harnesses when installing a Geotab device.
Volvo and Mack : 2004-2018
(HRN-GS09K2) ou OBDII à 16 pins (HRN-GS16K2).
According to Geotab's Harness Type Determination Checklist, 2004-2018 vehicles can use the HRN-CE10K2 and HRN-CM24Y1 harnesses for Geotab device installation.
Note that the vehicle can be equipped with a 9-pin (HRN-GS09K2) or 16-pin OBDII port (HRN-GS16K2).
