Compliance: Safety Round with Defect - Operator Responsibilities

Here are the responsibilities of an operator when a defect is detected on an asset and they are not the owner of the asset

Here is the procedure to follow when you are an operator but not the owner of an asset and a defect is reported during a Safety Round.

Operator Responsibilities when a Defect is Reported

When the operator receives a copy of a safety round report indicating a defect, they must:

• Sign the copy of the safety round report; 
• Promptly inform the owner of the presence of a defect;
• Provide the owner with a copy of the safety round report.

Client with AttriX

In MyGeotab:

1. Engine & Maintenance > Asset Inspections
2. Indicate the date as well as the asset;
3. Press the RDS to display;
4. Press "Download PDF";
5. Print & sign the copy;
6. Send the signed copy to the asset owner.

Client with another Geotab provider

In the event that the operator to whom you entrust your asset is with another Geotab provider, the "Download PDF" button will be absent as it is an AttriX exclusivity.

They can follow the same process, but press "Print". The driver's signature will not be present on the inspection record. The operator must sign it and send you a copy.
