Why have a GoSight dashcam?

Having a GoSight dashcam improves road safety and fleet management by offering real-time visibility and recording of driving events. This aids in accident reconstruction, coaching drivers for safer driving behaviours, preventing accidents, and reducing insurance premiums. GoSight cameras are fully integrated with MyGeotab, making it easy to analyze and manage driving data to optimize safety and fleet operations.

How does the GoSight camera work?

GoSight cameras continuously record while the vehicle is moving. Videos are stored on a microSD card and can be uploaded to the cloud for on-demand retrieval. They also include features like emergency recording via a "PANIC" button and cellular connectivity support for sending alerts.

How to manage and view video recordings?

Videos can be managed and viewed via the MyGeotab platform, offering complete integration for easy analysis and verification. Important videos can be saved and uploaded to the cloud for secure and remote access.

Can GoSight cameras be used for driver training and coaching?

Absolutely. The data and videos collected by GoSight cameras can be used to analyze driver behaviour, providing a valuable foundation for training and coaching to improve safe driving practices.

Clarifications on continuous recording with GoSight - Direct current connection

Choosing to connect the GoSight to a continuous power source during installation should be a well-considered decision, as it may lead to various issues that negatively affect its optimal functioning.

Here are the key elements to consider:
  • Finding specific videos older than two weeks, for example, can be challenging. The limited capacity of the SD card (128 GB) allows for about 115 hours of video storage. This means that some videos, especially those older than two weeks, may no longer be available, having been overwritten by new data.
  • If you are looking for a specific video and cannot find it in your database, it is important to contact us directly to obtain it. We will assist as much as possible in retrieving the requested videos, although their availability cannot be guaranteed due to data overwriting on the SD card.
  • Continuous recording implies a higher data consumption compared to event-based recording. This increase in data usage can affect your monthly subscription fee. The final cost will depend on the extent of this excess consumption.
  • Connecting the GoSight to continuous power can significantly reduce its longevity. Dashcams, regardless of the manufacturer, are not designed to operate continuously, day and night. Therefore, the camera's performance may degrade after several months of uninterrupted use. The validity of the warranty depends on adherence to the installation instructions. An installation guide is available if needed.
