Applies to:

  • Report creation
  • Exporting or importing a report
  • Modifying an existing report

It's possible to modify an existing report in MyGeotab to fully customize it. All reports listed in the report list can be edited. To get a template that you can work with and modify, follow these steps:

  • From the Reports tab, select Report Setup > Report Views
  • Select the report to modify
  • You can press export or select the report and press export

Once the Excel report is open, make the desired modifications.

Important Notes:

  • All reports contain different sheets (Data/Report/Summary)
  • Cell formats can be changed (date and time format/fonts/font size/colors/etc.)
  • Columns can be shown or hidden
  • Formulas are considered (e.g., adding a column that calculates cost per KM)
  • Additional columns can be added to the Report sheet provided they are added before the last column containing data
  • Conditional formatting will be supported
  • Agreements can be modified
  • From the Report sheet, lines before the start of the data can be deleted as long as the reference link to the Data sheet is not deleted

Warning:

  • It is strongly recommended not to change the data in the Data sheet
  • Links to the Data sheet must be retained
  • The sheet on which the report will be saved is the one displayed in MyGeotab. For example, to display a chart on the dashboard, it is important to save your report on the sheet (tab) containing the chart
  • Sheets cannot be renamed (Data, Report, Summary)
  • Existing sheets can be copied
  • The report cannot contain more than 1000 lines for import into MyGeotab

Displaying sheets from the Excel file:

  • Right-click on the sheets
  • Select Show
  • Select the sheet to display
  • Press OK

Hiding sheets from the Excel file:

  • Right-click on the sheet to hide
  • Select Hide

Import the report into MyGeotab

Once the report has been modified and saved, you can re-import it into your MyGeotab database.
