USA Property 70 hours / 8 days

Work Shift: A 24-hour period that begins following a consecutive 10-hour rest period. The work shift is the time between two periods of at least 8 consecutive hours of rest. A new work shift begins after a period of at least 8 consecutive hours of rest.

Driving Prohibition: when, since the beginning of the work shift

  • 11 hours of driving have been accumulated;
  • 14 hours of work have been accumulated;
  • The mandatory 30-minute break has not been completed.

Mandatory Break: After 8 hours of driving, it is mandatory to take a 30-minute driving break (ON, OFF) before resuming driving.

Cycle: 70 hours per 8-day period

Reset: 34 hours

USA Property 70 hours / 8 days with split sleeper

Sleeper berth splitting: Splitting permitted provided that:

  • One period lasts a minimum of 2 hours (OFF/SB) (maximum 14 hours of driving extension);
  • The second period lasts a minimum of 7 hours (SB (Sleeper Berth))
  • The 2 periods total at least 10 hours
  • Within a 24-hour window
  • The selected rule set contains: WITH SPLIT SLEEPER

NOTE: When using sleeper berth splitting, the order of eligible breaks does not matter - the "at least 2 hours" break can occur before or after the "at least 7 hours" sleeper berth duration.

Work Shift: A 24-hour period that begins following a consecutive 8-hour rest period. The work shift is the time between two periods of at least 8 consecutive hours of rest. A new work shift begins after a period of at least 8 consecutive hours of rest.

Driving Prohibition: when, since the beginning of the work shift

  • 10 hours of driving have been accumulated;
  • 15 hours of work have been accumulated;

Mandatory Rest: 8 consecutive hours of rest are required before starting a work shift.

Cycle: Prohibition on driving after 70 hours of service per 8-day period

Reset: Non-existent

Sleeper Berth Splitting: It is permitted to combine a rest period with a sleeper berth period to accumulate 8 consecutive hours of rest. (6h SB + 2h SB)
